How WoW Raid Carries Work

A raid carry is when a fully geared guild invites your character to their weekly clear and carries you through every boss. Your job is minimal — follow positioning guidance, don't stand in fire, and collect loot as it drops. The carry team handles damage, healing, and mechanics.

Raids have three difficulty modes: Normal, Heroic, and Mythic. Each scales up in mechanics, item level, and loot distribution. Most carry buyers start with Heroic for the best gear-to-price ratio.

What Loot Can You Expect?

In a standard loot system, each boss has a chance to drop gear. With a full Heroic carry, you'll typically see 4–8 pieces of loot across 8–11 bosses depending on the raid. With softres (soft reserve) or guaranteed item trading (available in some carry packages), you can prioritize specific slots.

Higher-tier packages include master loot, where the carry team assigns all tradeable drops to you. This significantly increases your loot throughput and is worth the extra cost if you need specific tier pieces or weapons.

Normal vs Heroic vs Mythic Carries

Normal carries are entry-level and the cheapest. They're ideal if you just hit max level and need fast catchup gear (typically 593–606 ilvl in The War Within). Heroic is the sweet spot — 619–626 ilvl gear and tier sets at competitive prices. Mythic is endgame: 632+ ilvl and exclusive mounts/achievements, but priced accordingly and requiring exact scheduling with world-class guilds.

Tier Set Completion: Why It Matters

Every class in WoW has a tier set bonus (2-piece and 4-piece) that dramatically boosts their damage or healing. Getting the 4-piece bonus from raid carries can be a 5–15% DPS increase depending on the spec — a bigger upgrade than many individual items.

GG Market sellers offer tier-targeting packages where you specifically reserve tier tokens and run the bosses that drop your class's pieces. This is the most efficient way to get 4-piece if you've been unlucky with vault rewards.

How Long Does a Raid Carry Take?

A full Normal carry typically takes 90–120 minutes. Heroic runs average 2–3 hours. Mythic varies widely by progress: early bosses can be done in 30 minutes, but late-tier Mythic carries require coordinated guilds that may only run on specific nights.

Most GG Market sellers offer scheduled runs (same time every week) or on-demand carries that can start within 1–3 hours of booking during peak hours.

How to Pick a Trustworthy Raid Carry Service

Look for sellers with completed-order counts above 500, average rating above 4.9, and verifiable world/server rankings. On GG Market, every seller's raiding history is visible — you can see their guild's rank on WoWProgress and their personal logs on Warcraft Logs before committing.

Avoid anonymous Discord services or sellers who ask for payment outside escrow. GG Market holds your payment until delivery is confirmed — you never risk your money.
